Built by Ford Racing in Conjunction with McLaren Development, this 2004 "Sema Show Car" one of only two initially produced (the whereabouts of car #2 is unknown, presumed dismantled, crushed). Ford Racing Performance Part's Focus WRC8 mixes the look of a Focus World Rally car with American V8 power.

The idea behind the Focus WRC8 was to promote Ford Racing's new catalog of Focus performance parts including everything from a World Rally-inspired body kit to V8-engine conversion kits. At first glance, the Focus WRC8 resembles the 2003-2004 multi-winning Ford WRC factory racecars, but further investigation finds the car powered by a 5.0L "Cammer" producing 420hp, with Tremec 5 speed transmission with rear wheel drive by a ford 9" rear end.

The Focus WRC8 started life as a ZX3 hatchback that was molded into a rear-drive V8-powered pocket-rocket. The WRC-inspired theme comes directly from Ford Rallye Sport, the team that develops and manages Ford's WRC racing effort. Fitted with O.Z. five-spoke wheels, RS suspension, cooled Brembo brake package, full completion-spec interior/cage, and much more. While, the car’s bodywork and graphics are identical to the WRC Focus RS rally cars developed by Wings West.

In 2005-2006 the Focus was used by Ford as a "Drift" car in drift exhibitions and was fitted with an adjustable hydraulic hand braking system. Since 2007, the WRC8 has been a part of a large private collection, housed indoors, out of public view.
